WK 2 Assign 2

A quote that comes to mind that I have stressed to my parents that I service.  My job as an educator is to realize that education begins at home and my job is to assist, enhance, and facilitate the required standards needed through my teaching for your child while he or she is in my care.  Therefore, the parent is the first teacher and and a classroom room teacher is not meant to take a place of the parent at anytime.  However, I do believe even in childcare it is important for the parents and provider to work together so their child can have successful and good experience in the early care program.  For instance, the parents and the provider may not agree on certain strategies or tasks that should be carried with all parties involved.  Although in most of my parents have been receptive to some of my suggestions and followed through to help their child when it came to crisis situations, developmental issues, and behavior.  I remember a child that I cared for was fifteen months old when I noticed that he would never use his words and it caused concern for me because it continued until he was 26 months old.  I observed him for about a month and researched and asked lots of questions before I discussed it with the mother.  When I brought up a program that could help him she was all for it.  The program I referred her to was Sooner Start and they work with children ages 0-3 years and once they age out of this program the child then is picked up by the public schools to continue their learning in the developmental area they are having problems in.  That child is now nine years old, a third grader, and plays on the junior baseball league in my community.  That is my motivation and why I have a passion for teaching.  The joy of seeing a child succeed and teaching him or her they can achieve whatever they set their mind up to be they can do it through hard work and dedication but it all begins with a good solid education.

"Love You Forever" is the book I chose because the love from the mother to her child displayed was a emotion she didn't want him to forget.  How she would creep into his bedroom and sing him a lullaby until he was fast asleep even passed adulthood.  Never letting him forget how much she loved him.  And when she was too old to go him and sing he would go to her cradle her and sing the lullaby to her.  Showing her he loved her so much as well.

WK 1 Assign 1 Arradondo, C

I believe Walden University is beneficial for myself and other colleagues to achieve their intended educational goals. For instance, choosing to enroll and attend this particular university in question is its convenience, knowledge of instructors, and building educational relationships with the students that are on their educational journey as well. Collaborative learning that is done through collecting, sharing, and receiving information from the instructor as well as my peers. While continually supporting and motivating each other so all can become more efficient and productive in their chosen area of advocacy or teaching.
